Object Number:

The Story:
These frame buildings on the South side of Highland Street housed typical commercial enterprises of the late 19th century. It is believed that Joe Paull (sic) operated his butcher shop from the building at centre, while occupying the house at Left. The shop at Right is the boot and shoe maker's shop of an unknown proprietor. The carriage drawn by the team of horses was standard transportation of the day. This location is in the vicinity of the present-day Bank of Montreal.
