The maternity kit was an important tool for the Red Cross Outpost Nurse. This sturdy case contained all of the items that would aid in a safe home delivery. The case was lined with cloth pockets to provide additional storage and each item would be labelled so she could easily find what she needed.
The case was used not only to take the supplies to the delivery, but also to carry the soiled items home. This case bears witness to the many deliveries it must have seen.
