S.S. No.9 Stanhope schoolhouse sign
Description:
The original S.S. No.9 Stanhope wooden schoolhouse sign. It was repainted by the donor. The school, also known as the Hindon Hill School, was in operation from 1898 to 1939.
Notes:
The 1896-1898 Stanhope Township Council minutes and School Trustee's minutes which are kept at the Stanhope Heritage Museum chronicle the decisions made in building the schoolhouse.
