Object Name:
Diaper
Kit Connection:
White cotton flannelette diapers were in general use for all babies before the introduction of disposable padded ones. New mothers were taught how to fold them correctly for a good fit and to fasten them safely with large safety pins.Work bees were held by Red Cross volunteers to make these diapers out of yardages of flannelette.

Gifts of some of this soft new napkins were greatly appreciated by families. It was important to have a good supply because their care needed to include washing and time for drying.
