Title:
Thomas Jones Store Post Office
Description:
Digital image of Thomas Jones Store showing a large brick house with an attached addition and a separate building across from it. A figure is seen moving between the addition of the house and the separate building. There are various advertising signs including ones for Dunlop Tires, Salada Tea, and Red Rose Tea. There is also a wooden figure holding a sign which reads "THOSE WHO MAKE THE BEST OF THINGS SUCCEED" in the foreground of the picture at the right.
The Maple Lake post office was located in the store. Thomas Jones was the postmaster for over 46 years, from October 1903 until his resignation in January 1950.
As of 2012, the brick house, which was built by J. H. Billing, and the store building beside it, are still there.
